YouTube Data API key (only needed for @handles / custom URLs)
Links already containing /channel/UC..., or any video link, resolve instantly with no key needed.
A key is only required to resolve an @handle or a /c/ custom URL into the exact ID.
- Go to the Google Cloud Console → create a project
- Enable the "YouTube Data API v3"
- Create an API key under Credentials, and paste it above
Paste a channel or video link above and click "Find Channel ID"...
Works fully offline for direct /channel/UC... links and for video links (via YouTube's public oEmbed endpoint). Handles and custom URLs need the Data API because YouTube doesn't expose that mapping any other way.
